Lanuagelab.com ESL Online Easy as One, Two, Three (part one)

For those of you who are struggling with learning ESL (English as a second language) or tired of using online chat tutors this might help.

It’s becoming a proven fact that when you practice your English speaking with native English speakers you become better faster and the learning process becomes extremely easy.

Many ESL online students may find it difficult to become fluent if not given the chance to practice in a real life environment.

Scenario: you take classes a few times a month to improve your English for a business conference you’re going to in the United States. You’ve booked a flight there and when you arrive you don’t see your luggage at the terminal for pick up.

They have lost your bags! How will you tell them you’ve lost your luggage?

Example: “Hi Sir, I have lost my bags.”

Better Example: “My luggage wasn’t at the terminal for pick up. I wonder if you could help me find my luggage and tell me when you will arrange to get those to me and where I will pick those up?”

The better example is polite, very descriptive and the tone of your voice will help you deliver your message to the air port customer service better.

How will you learn that tone of voice or pronunciation?

Practicing your English on native English speakers as well as listening to them speak will significantly help you be better understood and give you a better experience when you make your trip to the United States.

Can you practice real life scenarios or have these kinds of experience simply using online chat? Most likely you won’t be able to achieve this.

Native English speakers have different accents, slang, and tone of voice that you can pick up on and become a native English sounding speaker yourself, but only given the right tools, environment and opportunity.

ESL online shouldn’t be so hard or frustrating. It should be fun, exciting and results oriented in speech, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, writing and more. It should offer you a chance to immerse yourself in real life environment situations but also allow you to do this all from your home computer.

In conclusion there are such schools out there that provide this and more. Innovative and immersion teaching of ESL online is your best bet to get the most bang out of your buck (idiom: to spend your money on opportunities that give you expected results, that you come to expect and that are reasonably priced).

Second Life® Creators Offer Richly Textured and Old-World Attention to Detail

My friend Arabella in Second Life® finds some pretty unique artisans within the Second Life® grid. I can always count on her to toss me a landmark to some very exceptional places.

Photon is the creator of the Magic Stars Top Hat that Arabella is wearing and can be found at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Photon%20Pinks/64/128/45 in world Second Life®.

I’m not easily impressed but I’m finding the more I make time to explore, the more I’m finding how easily I am in awe.

Another friend of mine by the name of Koniving took me to Grendel’s which can also be found in world Second Life®. We spent a good hour or so digging for copper ore, reeds and other material so I could get a really cool prize at the end.

People are very creative and in my opinion, with proper prior planning and research you can earn a living in Second Life®.

Yes, it takes some time and maybe even a little of your own “real” money, but in the end and with all the resources Linden Lab’s as well as in world residents have to offer, it can be done.

Languagelab’s high performance actors and certified teachers whose qualifications are internationally recognized and proven success track record put their money to work to invest in the future of ESL (English as a second language) online students globally!

Many ESL online students rely on Languagelab’s years of experience and depend on them, worry free to help prepare them for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam, learning English as a second language. Whether ESL online students come to improve their English for their career, or just for self improvement, Languagelab is receiving high kudos from ESL online students for a job well done.

Languagelab has several ways to teach and prepare students for ESL online. The best way to give an example is by watching one of our top performing actors practicing English with students.

To prepare you for the below video, there are two basic components (among other important factors) that help the ESL online students become fluent in English. One of the popular parts of Languagelab’s curriculums is having live native English speakers to practice what online students learn in classes with Languagelab’s certified teachers.

YouTube Video #1: Fran does the hokey pokey

As you can now guess, Languagelab isn’t just the average online school. Languagelab uses a rich 3D and VOIP environment and working close with Linden Labs, the creator of the popular MMORPG online platform Second Life®, to bring ELS online students “real life” experiences.

Here’s a popular example. Often when ESL online students use chat or webinars to learn English as a second language, the student will never be given the opportunity to practice in a real life setting. ESL online students rave that Languagelab’s real feeling environment and circumstances give them the education to hit the ground running with their English in any real world environment.

Languagelab’s ESL online students excel very quickly. If you take a few minutes to view the below video, you’ll see students that have only been with Languagelab for a short few months. The ESL students in the video started out at a basic level and are now considered advanced in their ESL skills by using Languagelab’s ESL online tools, resources, teachers and practicing with live native English people who Languagelab refers to as The English City People.

SLEX is Taken Over By Second Life

As you can see by the updated look of our website, Linden Lab has acquired Xstreet SL. My team and I are excited about how this will benefit all Second Life users and existing Xstreet SL customers.

Since its inception in 2004 Xstreet SL (then called SL Exchange) has been the leader in online virtual trade for the Second Life virtual world. The commerce team at Linden Lab and I recognized that the reach of these services would be greatly improved if they were integrated directly into the Second Life experience.

A few changes are already visible - the auction system and the vendor system that was in development have been discontinued, and we've temporarily halted terminal placements until we decide how to handle them going forward. In the long term our customers will see more features to improve shopping and to improve selling products and services. In the short term you will not notice much of a change; you can continue to purchase items as always and your current listings will be there today just like yesterday. Continue reading

Today we are very happy to share some exciting news with you: Linden Lab has acquired Xstreet SL and OnRez - the two leading Web-based marketplaces for buying and selling creations for Second Life. Over the past few months we’ve been working with the folks at Virtuatrade and the Electric Sheep Company to hammer out the details, and today is the first day that we’ve been able to talk openly about this next step in our evolution. The Next Chapter for Xstreet SL and OnRezFirst off, we’d like to congratulate both teams for their vision, passion and commitment. Xstreet SL and OnRez succeeded because they provided great opportunities for merchants, built delightful experiences for shoppers, and fostered dynamic and creative communities. Hats off to them!
